THE ARCHITECT

Vasco Vieira is known as the architect
of houses that make you dream.

Born in Johannesburg, South Africa, he was designing houses when he was 11 and already knew what he wanted to be. He is one of the most successful Portuguese architects, working mainly, but not just, in the Algarve, with projects for celebrities like Cristina Ferreira, English actors and foreign footballers. Internationally recognised, his innovation and the quality of his projects have won several awards. In 2004, Homes Overseas magazine included Vasco Vieira on a list of the ten architects it considered the best in the world. His starting point is always the location of the project, the views, sun exposure and the landscape. This is his inspiration and it’s easy to see how somebody is going to live in that place and in that house and make the most of this experience. His brand image is the outside/inside connection, always present in all his constructions, given that for him the non-existence of barriers generates fluidity between the climate, comfort, the surrounding area, the landscape and the lifestyle of the residents.
